Jambi Governor Hasan Basri Agus encourage the jungle in Jambi sedentary life, and this step is done considering the depletion of forest areas into the jungle ranges.
"Most of the forest area has been converted into oil palm plantations and forest plantations (HTI). Thus, the nomadic forest is expected to be settled and no longer move," said the Governor in Jambi, Wednesday (1/4), quoted by Antara.
Hasan Basri said that the Jambi provincial government has set up a few steps so that the forest can be settled, such as building a house, water supply, and in cooperation with plantation companies.
According to him, there are some groups of people jungle in Sarolangun have a sedentary life. As in Bukit Suban, Black Water District (Jambi), because they have to socialize with the local community.
"People of the jungle in Bukit Suban named Chief Tariff or H Gilani had converted to Islam, and he had the pilgrimage," said Hasan Basri.
For those who have not been able to settle the government points to the plantation employers set aside an area of 20 percent for the livelihoods of the jungle as a cruising area.
"We have a strong commitment to enable companies to set aside land for the forest as a place of their livelihood," he said.
For people who have settled jungle, the government will continue to provide guidance through several programs. Good education, health and other activities that can increase the ability of human resources.
"If the people of the jungle can settle the government will easily perform various guidance to remote indigenous tribes. Actually the jungle while much has been developed, which already has a vehicle," he said.
The governor also hoped FM Radio Benoor run the jungle in Bukit Suban Sarolangun Black Water District, can be a means of educating them, let alone the language used in their own language.
